kimmie can design and create a mural for Airbnb or short term rental space. Any place where you have an empty wall that needs transformed. kimmie can create both indoor and outdoor murals.

Mural Design Process

Send kimmie your inspiration and let her know the wall square footage dimensions. She will draft out a design for your approval and send an estimated completion time. kimmie will never begin painting on a wall until you have full confidence and love the look of the design. 

There are two ways kimmie creates murals. One is to take the design and create a full sketch on paper to then project onto the wall and trace the image for accuracy and detail precision. The other is to use a large scale grid method where the paper version will be measured out to match the square footage of the wall. She then will grid the wall and draw by hand what goes into each square. In either method, kimmie paints by hand using wall paint.

Using high-quality paint to withstand both time and even direct sunlight your mural will last for years to come. kimmie can also varnish the final mural for ultimate protection from dirt, dust, and hand prints.

Mural Pricing

A general ballpark is $30/sqft. This can fluctuate based on location, surface, execution, and design complexity. Pricing includes materials and labor.

To secure the job, a down payment must be received and this will be deducted from your total square footage price. Clients typically pay in installments each time kimmie arrives to work, or you can pay in full prior to the final painting session. Each session is usually 4 hours of time unless otherwise discussed.

kimmie was hired by PPG Industries to help revamp the game room at The Boys & Girls Clubs Greater Houston. This was a paint-by-number mural where PPG volunteers would come in and paint the spaces as a community building activity. kimmie designed and engineered the two wall panels so those with no painting skills or experience could successfully paint the wall. kimmie developed the design using game elements the kids at the club enjoy playing, created the outline on the wall, put numbers in each space that associated with the correct paint color, and then assisted while the volunteers painted the wall.

Ceiling Mural:

 

 

 

 

This ceiling mural was created for a Pho restaurant in North Central Houston. The owner wanted clouds painted so customers could look up and feel like they are outside. Many have said this reminds them of a mural seen in Las Vegas. 

Child's Bedroom Mural: Space Themed

kimmie worked with a client to design and create a mural for a child's bedroom. The client wanted his son to have a space themed bedroom that included a rocket and also the solar system. Knowing the room dimensions kimmie drafted where each design would go for the client to approve. Once the design was finalized kimmie went on site to paint the mural.
